Sudbury Pre-K Baseball Explorer Program:
This is a fun and enthusiastic introduction to the game of baseball for all boys and girls entering kindergarten in the fall of 2018. Players will be placed on teams and receive uniform caps and tee shirts representing real Minor League baseball teams. The Pre-K Explorer program is an 8-week plan featuring structured learning engaging the players in a series of activities and games that will include skills, drills and plenty of activity all in an age appropriate environment. We play using softer “sponge" baseballs and we ask all parents to come help “coach” on the field.
The 1 hour program runs April 28 - June 16 held each Saturday (including Memorial Day Weekend) between 9:00 – 10:00 am at Curtis Middle School.
Whether your family participated in the Pre-K Explorer program last year or are brand new to baseball, this is a great way to build on your prior experience or introduce your child to organized baseball in Sudbury. Our T-Ball program goals are for the kids to have fun, meet new friends and learn the basic skills of catching, throwing and hitting a baseball.
The T-Ball program meets for 1½ hours each Saturday morning beginning at 9:00am from April 28 through June 16 and is open to both boys and girls who are currently enrolled in Kindergarten. We play at Curtis Middle School.
We strive to make T-Ball a rewarding experience for children at all levels of ability and experience, and we hope they will continue to participate in Single A, Double A, Triple A and Majors as they grow.
The weekly T-Ball format includes a few minutes of warm up exercises, a short team meeting detailing the activities of the day, demonstrations of the featured skill of the day, and thrills doing skills. As the season progresses, the teams play practice games against each other just for fun. Uniform caps and tee shirts will be provided, but players need their own baseball gloves. The team names will be the same as real Minor League baseball teams like the Durham Bulls and Lansing Lugnuts. We play using softer “reduced injury factor" (RIF) baseballs, and we ask all parents to come help “coach” on the field.
Sudbury T-BALL Parents Meeting

Youth baseball in Lincoln is run as part of LS Youth Baseball. The program starts with t-ball, which is open to boys and girls currently in kindergarten, and those who will start kindergarten next fall. Players meet on the Smith School fields in Lincoln each Saturday morning 10:00-11:30, after in-town soccer. The basic mechanics of baseball are taught and each week features a practice followed by a game. Opening day is April 28th and the season runs through June 16th.
Uniform caps, tee shirts and other equipment will be provided; players will need to provide their own baseball glove. The team names will be the same as real Minor League baseball teams like the Portland Seadogs and Wisconsin Timber Rattlers. We play using softer “reduced injury factor" (RIF) baseballs, and safety is a priority. Parents are asked to come help coach on the field (previous coaching experience or extensive knowledge of baseball is not required). Coaching your child and their friends is easy and a lot of fun. Without parent involvement, there is no program so please sign up as a coach when you register your child.
The objectives of the program are: having fun, learning baseball skills, and safety. The program is a great way to introduce your child to baseball, and start to build a solid skill foundation that they can build on as they grow and play at more advanced levels.
If you would like to register your child for any of these T-Ball programs, please select the register online option in the left column of our website home page. The fee for the T-Ball program is $135 and the fee for Pre-K Baseball Explorer is $80. We request that you register by April 1st. There is a space provided on the registration form to indicate any specific requests to be with a certain coach or with friends.
In April, all registrants will receive a mailing with final instructions, dates, times, and location.
